Serving the Reynoldsville community for over 100 years. Isaac E. Ekis founded the
I. W. Ekis funeral home in 1917 at his home at 301 E Main St Reynoldsville PA.
After his death Waldo E. White bought the funeral home
from Mr. Ekis’ widow on February 24, 1932 establishing the Waldo E. White
Funeral Home and Ambulance Service. The White Funeral Home was moved from Mr. Ekis’
home to 230 W Main St Reynoldsville PA. In August of 1932 Waldo White procured
the Manley Weed Home at 206 E Main St Reynoldsville PA, and moved to the new
location where it’s been ever since.
On February 8, 1950 Eugene F. Smith purchased the
White Funeral Home. In 1951 Mr. Smith put on the first addition to the funeral
home, adding an area that was used for viewings and services. In 1968 another
addition was added, including a bigger viewing room, garage and the entrance
way that is used today. He operated the Smith Funeral Home and Ambulance
Service, until 1973 when the Reynoldsville Ambulance Service opened.
Three years later on February 1, 1976, Bernard P
Snyder acquired the Smith Funeral Home. The Bernard P Snyder Funeral Home Inc.
